In Texas, we say, "Remember the Alamo. Remember Goliad."

To that, I would add, "Remember the World Trade Center. Remember the Pentagon. Remember United Flight 93."

So say we all.

Gym: In other news, the gym whupped me today, as usual.

Current Mood: calmcalm

I am surprised that on my entire friends list - which has many USA folk you are the only one to mention 9/11.

Rich is up this weekend and we've watched a number of documentaries on C4 - harrowing stuff to watch, especially footage that I am sure was not available back in 2001.

Viv--I remember watching footage that day of the second plane flying into the second tower. It amazed me that someone could so calmly fly an airplane into a building without any sign of turning the wheel at the last moment or somehow trying to duck out of the way, just from instinct.

I try to not think so much about how awful it was, and instead try to focus on the firefighters and all of the stories about them and what they did. That and the people on Flight 93 make me remember the day and feel proud of how brave humanity can be, and that is comforting.
