Oh, my God--CSI! :D

TV: CSI was hilarious last night for its universe's version of classic Star Trek, called Astro Quest.

The fantasy sequences, in which Hodges would imagine himself and Wendy in various Astro Quest episodes (based on "The Gamesters of Triskelion" and "The Menagerie" from classic Trek) had me rolling on the floor, laughing. Astro Quest is notable for the following features:

Fuschia and black uniforms (No, I'm not kidding. I wish I were.)
Fuschia everywhere, in fact
Awesome Sixties beehive hairdos
No six-foot tall babe in hot pants and silver hip boots, alas
Hodges looks good with hair!
Cooler tricorder than classic Trek had.

It was a totally wonderful and fun homage.

I like original CSI much better than CSI: Miami because Horation Caine isn't in it. I miss Callie, Delko, and Wolf, though.

Bones was particularly interesting because we learn something surprising about Dr. Sweets. Also, Dr. Gordon returns, to announce his retirement. We learn something surprising about him, too. And we also get exposed to a lot of Really Bad Death Metal. (I'm taking voice lessons; I can be a music snob, if I want. (g) )

Current Mood: amusedamused
Current Music: Green Orion slave girl dance music from classic Trek

OH man... CSI was so random...."Hodgins you're on fire!"

Bones... I love Dr. Sweets and so glad he replaced Dr. Gordon. He was annoying.

Poor Hodges! He was really getting into those mind-wanderings of his. (g)

I like Sweets a lot, too. Yes, he comes across as a bit young at times, but he's very insightful. And yes, much more toned-down than Gordon.

"He's dead Jim"

Twas an awesome episode (in the show's best series i can remember in a long time) and i was gutted when they didn't get it together at the end.

Theo--I was disappointed that it didn't happen at the end, too. But I have hope for some future episode.

Gosh, I haven't seen a new episode of CSI in forever. I kind of stopped watching it after season 3 for no particular reason. Oh, no, wait, that might have been when we got cable. There's just so much more to watch when you have a hundred channels instead of just five!
