And God Said, "Let There Be Light..."

We have electricity! It came on Saturday afternoon. The not so great part is that we only have it in half of the house. Appareently, we have two 110-volt lines running in parallel, along with a ground wire. Normally, two 110's don't equal a 220, but the way these are connected, they do. Except one of the lines apparently still isn't working. *sigh*

So we have lights, ceiling fans, microwave, computer, TV, and CD player, but no air conditioning, stove, oven, refrigerator, washer, or dryer. And the two back bedrooms don't have lights.

We technically don't have TV, either, as we use cable, and the cable is still out. We have hopes of that getting repaired soon, though. There's no telling when we'll get our full 220 volts, as there are still families with no electricity at all, and they will have precedence over a house with partial electricity.

For right now, though, it's just nice to be able to stay up past 9pm. :) And ceiling fans are lovely!

And God Said, "Let There Be Light" . . .

And the power company interrupted. "That'll be in a couple days. Here's your bill for the reconnect service. Have a nice day!"

;) So glad you've got some lights and ceiling fans, darlin'.

That's kind of odd that only half of your stuff is working. I think the refrigerator not working would have been the worst bit for my family--when our power goes off, that's something my mom obsesses about. "Don't open the fridge! Keep the cold air in there as long as possible!"
