A Lazy Birthday

Birthday dinner tonight was at La Madeleine. I had their Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, with their fleid grees salade and tomato basil soup. All good!

Today, I got rid of some recycling and listened to the news about Gov. Palin. We went to Borders after dinner, where I bought a book on Christian meditation by a man who was a former monk and student of Thomas Merton. I'm looking forward to reading that. I almost bought a book about Catherine of Siena, but after looking at it, I realized that I would never get around to reading it. I had meant to buy a copy of The Big Sort, but I have another book I need to read for work, first, so I'll tackle The Big Sort later.

Gaming: The CO of one of my Trek sims resigned, so that ship is in limbo. The other sim is geing annoyingly slow, probably because of the holiday weekend. *sigh* For me, holidays and weekends are the best times to post.

Writing: I'm beginning to work on the Glennis story outline. It's interesting, working out how and when the story will differ from the RPG--and it will have to differ widely, at some points. A lot of neat stuff happened in the game which I am not convinced should make it into a book, as it is not directly related to the brothers' story. There is also the problem that it is the brothers' story, and both brothers take widely different paths in their lives and careers. Figuring out how to organize this book will be a challenge.

And now, time for cake and ice cream!
