Basic, Simple Test for Stroke

Passed on from a co-worker. These make all the sense in the world and are quite simple.

If you suspect that someone you know may have had a stroke:

1. Ask the person to smile.
2. Ask the person to speak a sentence or talk to you.
3. Ask the person to raise both arms or to grip your hands.

Inability to do any of these bilaterally with equal strength could be a sign that the person has had a stroke. The stroke will be in the opposite side of the brain from the affected limb.
