Aerden [userpic]

I closed my eBay account today. The spam email purporting to be from eBay members got to be too much, and I have only ever bought two items using eBay.

The way I look at it--If their security is so bad that they can't conceal your email address from people trying to steal it for phishing purposes, I don't need to do business with them. I can't trust a single communication I supposedly get from them. I doubt that this will stop the spoof emails from coming to my emailbox, but at leat I have now cut all ties.

Current Mood: accomplishedaccomplished

There's a very good chance the spammers did NOT get your email address from eBay.

I get eBay spam all the time, and I've never used eBay. Nor have I used any of the umpteen banks and credit unions supposedly concerned with irregularities about my accounts.

I heard that from Ardys, too. That's amazing, that they bother to spam you and don't even check to see if their spam would be effective.

Though, granted, that would take a lot of undue work on their part. (g)

I get junk mail from eBay all the time, and I don't even have an account.

Ardys--Oh really? That is bizarre! I thought people had just harvested my information from there.

Spammers have to be some of the stupidest people on Earth, regardless.
