Sunday Afternoon Update

Not much is going on today. I got up at 7:30am and wrote a post for the USS Odyssey over on Frontier Fleet. Then I snuggled with Mark for a while and went back to sleep. When I woke up, he was using the computer, so I lazed around in bed some more, because I'm still feeling bleah with this cold. Now I'm on YM looking for baghdaelf.

I finally gave in and uploaded the YM update. It has a whole lot of features I neither want nor need, but at least the update is done. I'm now munching on a port wine cheese log.

I need to talk to quietlyurban about IMS, see where she wants to start with Ilena, so I can modify myradin's story to fit.

I hope to watch the premiere episode of The Dresden Files this evening, just to see what it's like--and Crossing Jordan, of course. :)

I envision a huge fan story that I will never write, but it would be a crossover among House, Crossing Jordan, CSI Miami, Bones, and Dexter.

I still ought to write a fan thing for sprogs in which we see the children of Gregory House and Jordan Cavanaugh, but I know I will never write it. *sigh*

Must see what needs doing in Jocasta and Theran Weyrs, and then work on Vendetta.

What Fantasy Archetype Are you?

The Pillar-of-Strength Love Interest
You are the Pillar-of-Strength Love Interest! You're like Arwen (Lord of The Rings), Guinevere (Arthurian Legend), Princess Leia (Star Wars), Door (Neverwhere), Ginny/Hermione (Harry Potter), and Kahlan Amnell (Wizard's First Rule). You are the protagonist's love interest and you almost invariably love him too. You are strong, resiliant, caring, loving, loyal and virtuous - but you often have to make hard decisions between love and the Right Thing. You and The Mentor usually go way back, and keep your eye out for betrayal of your love from The Traitor. Also, keep guard, you are the favorite hostage of The Totally Wicked Villain.

So...Instead of Paul, I'm Lilith? *giggles*

Viv, we should write a story with Lilith as the Hero!

Current Mood: blahbleah

I was skimming back over some of my old posts and I rather think that I'm going to begin close to where I began the first time: with Lena and Tass coming up out of the desert. That way I can lay in a good re-introduction to their characters with a dash of back story to flavour it, and sort out from there how to get her to see Myradin again.

Anything in particular you had in mind?

Hi, Suse! I see I need to correct what I typed for your LJ user ID..

I'm going to have Myradin travel home after spring thaw. For now, he is snowed in in Highgate. He'll walk the dream-paths to visit his sister in Castelle and decide what, if anything, he can do about Settim. I don't really want Settim to come to Highgate, but Myradin does need to have a look at him and learn something about him, for my plot to go forward.

Myradin could meet up with Ilena and Taseh on his way to Castelle, I'm planning that for late February or early March. Would hat give you enough time to write your backstory? Would that be too long a wait?

Also, have the In'ree returned to the desert, or are they still holed up in the mountain?

The In'ree will still be at the Sacred Mountain, but struggling. Despite being able to live there doesn't mean to say that their forced adaptation will be easy. They'll be anxious to return to the desert after a long hard winter underground.

I'm assuming here that we're picking up without too much intervening time having happened over the downtime. I haven't been keeping up with the forum in the last week or so so not 100% certain.

I imagine that Lena and Tass will have been out scouting the desert to find any remaining undead after the invasion that drove the In'ree out in the first place. The Lord of the Underworld and her doomguard will have been the perfect scouts to send :)

Myradin will have sent them what supplies he could with Linnius and Ephram when they traveled to the Sacred Mountain to let the In'ree know that Ilena was safe in Highgate. I'm presuming the two stayed only long enough to exchange news with the In'ree and then headed back.

I'm not sure how much time has passed, either. I also need to get Tarran back to Highgate, so I can begin writing things about him--he's spying for Thera.

Ah, plotting. So much fun!

Ilena would have stopped in Highgate until she'd recovered from the pneumonia that I left her with in my last post to the list before it all faded away for a while. She wouldn't have left until she was strong enough to go find Taseh.

I think we'll play the fuzzy game with the time, we'll call it spring after a hard winter and let it run with that.
