It's Not Easy...

pegkerr posted a link to Wil Wheaton's blog, and I nosed around his site for a bit. I came to the conclusion that it's not easy, having once played Wesley Crusher.

I can't stand Wesley, but I have to say that Wheaton himself seems like a neat guy, and a human one. A simple glimpse into his morning at a Starbuck's coffee shop was a piece of writing that I found quite entertaining to read.

I don't always agree with his politics, but the guy himself seems decent. I might check out his blog a bit more often.

I visited Holly Lisle's website today after having not been there for a while. In her 'Answer to Misconception #4,' it looks as if she has seen the light. I should be so disciplined.

I'm having a peanut butter and apple mint jelly on toast sandwich for lunch. Eating similar lunches is probably why I'm not losing weight. *sigh* I'm going to visit Weight Watchers today and see if I can get some tips. I know I need more exercise, but it would help to know for sure, for example, whether peanut butter is Evil, or not. I keep hearing conflicting ipinions.

I too hate Wesley, but Wheaton's blog looks cool. Have bookmarked it for future reference. Thanks. :)

Hehe...Yeah, Naomi Wildman on Voyager was much more interesting! They could have done a whole show about her. Wesley, though...Bleah.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Wheaton's journal, though.

I so totally need to get back on Weight Watchers, too. Since Xmas at least five pounds. And that's SINCE Xmas! I will say this, Weight Watchers does work if you do it faithfully.

Heh...I clicked on their 'Drink your water' link today and read a lot of message board notes about water consumption. It reminded me to get back on track with drinking water regularly, at least. When I'm being good about it, I drink 80 oz. a day, about 20 oz every four hours that I'm awake.

Now I just need to investigate which foods I should be avoiding. I'm pretty sure rice is on the no-no list. *sigh* Back to my bag of raw spinach.... :)

Re:

Try the points thing. It's comprehensive, but take it from one who knows; it does work. And you can get the occasional bits of things you like if you are willing to compromise elsewhere.

I admit

I file wilwheaton.net under my guilty indulgences, because I found his site last year and just thought it was totally funny. Just don't mistake it for wilwheaton.org.

Here's my thought on peanut butter. It's high in fat, and though it's good fat, if your calories from fat is over 30% of your daily intake of calories, you're a lot less likely to lose weight. So, a tablespoon or two won't hurt. But if you're eating a whole butt-ton of it, that's more concerning. I like peanut butter because it makes me feel full. I usually have a tablespoon on a wheat roll. Yum!
