Yeah, baby, yeah!!!!!
Maybe, if this becomes a smash hit, it will spur on the Dragonriders of Pern movie. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
In the meantime, I can see the fandom now...Galveston Bay Covert, anyone? It would certainly be fascinating to create, because you'd have to go back and look at the actual history of, say, Galveston Island and so forth, to develop it. It would be neat!
Health: I have an appointment this Friday to see my eye doctor, to find out if she has any idea why my vision is foggy, lately. I've taken to using my magnifier for reading things that I was reading with the naked eye a couple of weeks ago. So I want some answers.
I had my physical today. I won't go into details, except to say that I've lost 3-1/2 lbs., and the doctor was pleased with my blood pressure. Hurray! We'll see what the labwork results are.
Books: I'm still reading Enough! by Juan Williams. I get several pages read every afternoon when I get home from work. In the introduction, he's talking about the reaction to the speech Bill Cosby gave at the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision. Apparently, Cosby received standing ovations when he gave the speech, and then the critics weighed in weeks and months later.
Very interesting person I learned about, though--Ms. Oseola McCarty, a black woman whose parents took her out of school in third grade so she could go to work. This woman near the end of her life gave her life's savings of $185,000 to a university to fund a scholarship to allow black students to attend college. That is what I call the widow giving her two pennies and then some. I'm glad to have learned about her.
