Sunday Update

Dream, the morning of 07/16/06: I dreamed about the characters from His Majesty's Dragon, but it starred the actors from Pirates of the Caribbean, most notably Beckett and the Governor. Will Laurence, however, was my pirate character William Rathleigh. I do think the guy who plays Beckett in Pirates would make a passable Captain Rankin, and Governor Swan is a somewhat better-tempered Earl of Allendale than the one in the book. (g)

In the dream, Captain Rankin was trying to drag Will back to England from his father's Caribbean plantation, and the Earl was having none of it. Will was primarily trying to run interference between the two.

Gaming: For our tabletop game, it has been suggested that our next adventure be carried out by a group of mercenaries with no particular religious affiliations, who are just in it for the money. *snicker* Serenity, here we come! Hehehe...

Writing: I will be working on my short story "The Devil's Due" today. I want to see if I can get it published. Members of Imperial Secrets might remember this one from one of the Queen's Jousts we had.

For those of you not in IMS, this was a writing contest that we had each spring, as long as the game existed. Members would write a story. The best authors from the first round would be asked to submit a story for the second round. The best authors from the second round would be invited to submit a story for the third round, and a winner was selected from the third round stories. You could write either three separate stories, or you could write a story that took place over three stories.

I miss the Queen's Joust. It was always so much fun to prepare for!

Friends: Ack. I just found out my friend Viv has had a concussion and is in the hospital. :( Probably just for observation, but it's still worrying.
