This morning, as Mark and I were out doing errands, I was telling him how at variance my original plans for having Paul behave were with the commonly-held attitudes of Death-Eaters. For instance, he believes that using the Avada Kedavra curse is dishonorable, since the opponent can't block it. This, among other reasons of logic and ethics, is why I just can't write him as a DE anymore; he'd have been killed in the first week.
Anyway, I was telling Mark why the DE attack Muggles with magic instead of with physical weapons--it's because magic is the way in which they believe themselves to be superior to Muggles.
This discussion got Mark and me off into a tangent of, "What if Malcolm Reynolds met up with one?" which devolved into, "Death-Eaters in the 'Hood."
So I'm imagining rap lyrics something like this:
We be where we always be.
They be where they should not be.
Death-Eaters in the 'hood
Ain't respecting us like they should,
So before tonight passes,
We'll blow away their wand-toting asses
*cough* Or words to that effect.
I'm going to see if I can write some Paul stuff for two_alleys_rpg today. I'm going to scrap the TA post I was working on, I think, and start it over from the ground up.
Sled Dogs: Having seen Eight Below last night, this article about a legally-blind dog-sled racer in the Iditarod caught my eye.
And Suse--Seth thinks that if he and Erzsebet ever have children, they should mane a daughter Maya. (g)
News: I saw a first on the news today. The reporters covering the French labor riots were essentially shaking their heads and saying that the rioters were very foolish and pretty much shooting themselves in the foot. This is the first time I have ever heard a news reporter not be whole-heartedly supportive of labor rioters. Wow.
