Aerden [userpic]
Rain Dance--Or Maybe Riverdance

The Weather Overhead: It is pouring outside! We have been having thunderstorms all day. My co-workers C., M., and I went out to a Mexican restaurant called Don Teo's because C. and I wanted to buy gift certificates there for the people who are our Secret Santa recipients. When we left, it was overcast, but okay. When we left the restaurant, the parking lot had turned into a pond, and it was raining hard. Shepherd Street between the restaurant and our office was a river. Luckily, C. was driving an SUV. Otherwise, I'm not sure we would have made it. Water was up over the curb on north Shepherd. And it's still raining.

Lunch was worth it, though. I had chicken enchiladas and guacamole.

My Secret Santa gave me some lovely, thick, fuzzy socks. I can't wait to sleep in them!

I suspect I will get home late this evening. I don't think there's any way that the bus that picks me up from work will get here by 4:15pm.

Life: I didn't watch Dog or House last night. I felt completely brain-dead and even took a brief nap when I got home, which didn't help as much as I had hoped it would.

Work: Insurance companies which cannot be bothered to help pay for blood glucose monitoring equipment ought to be shot. Yes, the equipment is expensive ($508.00), but it's cheaper than having to pay for amputations, renal dialysis, and schleral buckling operations, etc. Not to mention blindness mobility training, wheelchairs, etc. I swear, insurance companies can be so evil, sometimes!

Edit: Oddly enough, I got home on time, at 5:15pm. Braes Bayou, however, is very, very full of water. Sheesh!

Current Mood: awakeawake

Getting home on a damp, late bus is never fun: hope you tapdanced home in good time.

Rich--Actually, I did get home around the usual time. I was very surprised!
