Nigerian Spam Quiz: I saw this in perimyndith's journal and had to share the spammy goodness!

You are Princess Agbani. You are a student at the University of Nigeria, Lagos. You got my name through the chember of comerse. You have $21,350,000 to share, which your father, the king, left you. You have trouble spelling.
Which Nigerian spammer are You?

I kept myself very busy at work today; got about 20 reports typed. It was amazing; work seemed to fly, today.

Medical Transcription Word of the Day: suppurative otitis media - Essentially, an icky, pus-secreting, ear infection. I would have typed it as 'separative otitis media,' if I hadn't looked it up.

TV: Looking forward to House MD, Dog: The Bounty Hunter, and Crossing Jordan, tonight.

I saw the opening bit of A Wizard of Earthsea last night. I have never read those books, but that opening scene was very interesting to me. I thought of it as a failure of the author to get into the characters' mindset and the moviemakers' failure to show their actors how to act like blacksmiths, even if it's for just one scene.

Earthsea: Here, you have this apparently teenage boy who is presumably apprenticing under his father to learn blacksmithing. This kid, oddly enough, does not understand why he and his father have never visited the big city that's 20 miles away. Nor does he seem to have the slightest concept of how important his father's job was. Blacksmithing was a very honored profession, but this kid seemed oblivious to it. Really, he's thinking like a modern teenager who is transplanted into a medieval fantasy world. That felt way off.

Net--Admittedly, I know very little about blacksmithing, but I've seen real blacksmiths at work.. These two actors were just playing at it. They were tapping at little pieces of metal--especially the actor playing Ged. Come on, he would have been training at this from a very young age.

Taxes, already! I got my 1099 from IBM today. Sheesh! I guess they're trying to get all of their stockholders' tax paperwork done early.

SPH: Well, I said I'd do more with SPH after Nanowrimo was over, and so I have. Seth's grandfather has just written to Snape. I'll see if anything comes of it.

Current Mood: goodgood
