Song from Firefly

Heh...I found the lyrics to the theme song from Firefly, and I'm posting them here, so I'll always have them available.

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care; I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black.
Tell them I ain't coming back.
Burn the land, and boil the sea.
You can't take the sky from me.

There's no place I can be,
Since I found Serenity.
But you can't take the sky from me.
No, you can't take the sky from me.

--Joss Whedon

Now, the real pisser is--Fox canceled the show! Firefly is worth a letter-writing campaign, and I believe there is one. If I find out about it, I'll post the info here, for anyone who is interested.

More Harry Potter Humor

(snicker) I just found this entry in wcg's Journal.

So, what other boys could Harry be teamed up with? I vote for Encyclopedia Brown!

But that also makes me wonder about characters from other books. Like, what if Pennington, the almost juvenile delinquent teenage pianist, went to Hogwarts? Would he be in Slytherin, maybe, or Gryffindor?

Now, the kids from Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising would probably all be Gryffindors. But there have to be a couple of Ravenclaws in Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time.Little House on the Prairie?</i> Nellie Olsen's got to be a Slytherin. (g)

Then, there's Miles Vorkosigan, for grins. Gryffindor, I'm sure--but where would military geniuses be Sorted to, in Hogwarts?

Winnie the Pooh? Got to be Hufflepuff. But where would Eeyore go? (Surely they would go gto Hogwarts. They're talking animals, so they've got to be magical, right?)

Menolly and Piemur--probably Gryffindor. You know, there don't seem to be all that many Ravenclaws in the Pern books, except for maybe Masters Domick, Fandarel, and Wansor.

Heralds? Eh, boring. Almost all Gryffindors. That's thir purpose in life, is to be Gryffindors. Except for Elcarth. (g)

But, hey, if you want a cool Slytherin and are willing to lock the girls in their dorms at night, try Harry Flashman.

Ramona and Beezus...Haven't a clue. Gryffindors? Hufflepuffs?

Romeo and Juliet--Juliet was a Gryffindor, I think; Romeo was definitely a Hufflepuff.

Oh, cripes. Now, this gets me to wondering about Hamlet. He's very hard to Sort. I think I'll leave him to the Hat. Might as well stop while I'm ahead.
