Help!

I've had Simon & Garfunkel's song, "Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine" running through my head for two days!

Help. Me. (g)

It's a small world after all!
It's a small world after all!
It's a small world after all!
It's a small, small world!

If that doesn't work we can go for the Monkees music.

*dies laughing!*

I have just two ASCII symbols for you--> :P

Chantal

A clerk at my last job suggested that, when I had "Turning Japanese" from the movie Gung Ho warping my brain, I try humming "The Good Ship Lollipop." She claimed that the song was powerful enough to wipe out the evillest earworm.

Well, she was right. "Lollipop" wiped out "Japanese."

And then I went around with "The Good Ship Lollipop" eating a hole through my brain. Nyaarrrrgh . . .

--Kris

Kris--LMAO! And is the person who suggested this still alive, or did you successfully bury the body?

Buy a big, bright, green Pleasure Machine.
You'd better hurry up and order one;
Our limited supply is very nearly gone...

I'm hearing the bloody thing pitch-perfect. Every single inflection of Paul Simon's voice from the record is right there, clear as a bell.

The price I pay for having good pitch discrimination. *sigh* This is part of why I love classical music--because it's harder to remember.

Chantal

Oh, she's still alive. Partly because she left work three hours before I did, and partly because I knew that if I enlisted the attorneys to help me craft a defense, it would come out of my next performance review. ;)

I thought of you the other day; CNN had a special on a woman with synaesthesia. :) As for classical music, who's your favorite artist?

--Kris

My favorite composer was Beethoven--until I found out about Hildegard of Bingen. She's not exactly classical, more like early medieval, but she's now my favorite. I also love Chopin's music.

Which composers do you like?

I love synesthesia...would hate to ever lose it; I think my world would be a lot more dull if I lost it.

Chantal

As much as I love Gregorian chant and plainsong, I've yet to listen to Hildegard. Thankfully, Audiogalaxy has her albums. :D

My favorite classical composers would be Satie, Vivaldi, Shostakovich, Bach, Respighi and Butler.

--Kris

I like Respighi's airs for lute, Vivaldi's and Bach's music in general, also Gabrieli and Albinoni.
Butler and Satie are new to me.

We All Wanna Know...

Chantal, we just have to know, DO all the hippies seem to get the jump on you? And if so, why?

Well there's no need to complain,
We'll eliminate your pain.
We can neutralize your brain.
You'll feel just fine now...

::grin:: Shall I drag out all my old Sable Weyr bounder filks? :)

Re: We All Wanna Know...

Dave--There are bounder filks??!

Please do!

Speaking of Sable, have you seen Sandra or Cheryl, lately? If you have, how are they doing?

Chantal

Re: We All Wanna Know...

In the clearing stands a bounder.
He's a predator; that's his trade.
But he carries a reminder
Of every time they laid him down and boinked him
Til he cries out in his anger and his shame
"I will kill them I will eat them!"
But the bounder still remains.
(boink boink boink boink boink boink boink...)

-- The Bounder
(to the tune of S&G's The Boxer)

::grin:: There's more, and others. If I manage to dig them out I'll post them on my LJ.

Cheryl got divorced, don't know -what- happened to Sandra. I haven't spoken with any of that crowd in many a year. I still pull out my old FoFs every now and again for a laugh, though. God, I miss that bunch.

Re: We All Wanna Know...

*screams, then falls out of chair, laughing*

Oh my God, that's funny! :D
