The Beginning of Another Fine Work Week

Graves' Disease Book: I have begun correspondence with Mr. Kenneth Graves. He is otherwise occupied at the moment, and we will correspond further in March. Right now, my next steps are to do searches in Irish medical libraries and to write to The Lancet, to see if perhaps the 1827 article was published or reprinted there. I might also check the New England Journal of Medicine, depending on how long it's been around.

Work: Work was reasonably good, today. I typed 18 reports, but there were no more after that. I'm hoping it'll be a little busier tomorrow.

Medical Transcription Word of the Day: Maxzide - a diuretic

Diet: I am seriously considering becoming somewhat of a vegetarian. I don't want to be the obnoxious sort, who insists on being accommodated everywhere I go because of my personal dietary choice, but I begin to think that I need to be eating fewer meats, less fat, and less cheese. The nice thing about vegetarianism is that it doesn't forbid you from eating chocolate. *innocent look*

Movies/Oscars: I'm sort of relieved that Jamie Fox won Best Actor, because I couldn't decide between Johnny Depp and Leonardo di Caprio. I thought both of them did brilliant jobs in Finding Neverland and The Aviator, respectively. I never went to see Ray. I was getting this sense where I live that people expected me to go see it, just because I'm legally blind. But I've never cared for Ray Charles' music, and I figured my 'blind movie protagonist' quota was more than taken care of by seeing The Village and Daredevil, both of which I enjoyed tremendously, blind protagonists or not.

I am still pissed off about the lack of unseighlidhe elves in The Village, though. I was really looking forward to them! But Bryce Dallas Howard's character more than made up for their absence.
