Black Tie and Boots

Boots: LMAO!!!!

On Fox News, they were doing a segment about the Black Tie and Boots inaugural ball that will be held in Washington DC, tonight. This is hosted every four years by Texans in Washington, whether or not the President is a Texan. The custom is for men to wear tuxedoes and cowboy boots--the more unusual the leather, the better.

So, just after introducing this story, Fox flashed onscreen, complete with a little beeping noise, the following warning:

(First screen)
If you are a member of PETA, you should not watch this segment.

(Second screen)
No, we really mean it!

After this came Brian Wilson, their correspondent. Wilson is from Texas, and he was visiting a boot store, where the proprietor was busily showing off all these alligator boots, lizard boots, ostrich skin boots, etc. Too, too funny!

You know why I like Fox so much? Because they know how to have fun while reporting the news.

Medical Transcription Word of the Day: situ inversus - A condition in which one's internal organs are located on the opposite side from normal--The left lung will have three lobes instead of two, the stomach will be located toward the right, the cecum will be on the left and the sigmoid colon on the right, etc. This condition is very rare. Sounds fascinating as heck, though.

The normal state is called situ solitus.

Home: I came home to the smell of simmering, homemade spaghetti sauce. I always love the smell of Mark's sauce, though he puts too much pepper in it for my taste. Truly a mouth-watering aroma.

(Later): How do I explain to my dearly beloved husband that Louisiana Hot Sauce and spaghetti sauce do NOT go well together? *whine*

Now that Christmas is over and my bank account has recovered, I'm saving up to buy PhotoShop CS. I miss working with graphics. I want to make icons again. I haven't been able to add anything to aerdens_icons in months.
