Aerden [userpic]
Recipe: Chantal's Spiced Chili

Food: A quick, flavorful meal using store-bought ingredients.

Ingredients:
1 can of Wolf Brand Chili (or chili of choice)
1/2 cup of grated habanero cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. garum masala
1 tbsp dried garlic flakes
1 tbsp. chives

Directions:
Empty the can of chili into one bowl or two, if you want to share. Sprinkle in a handful of cheese, and mix it in. Sprinkle in half-amounts of the other spice ingredients. Mix it well, and then heat it in the microwave for 1-1/2 minutes.

Remove from the microwave and mix in the remaining half of all ingredients, including the cheese. Mix well.

Heat for another 1-1/2 minutes, and eat. It will produce a steaming-hot, flavorful, and fragrant bowl of chili to warm you on a cold afternoon!

Can you tell I've been watching The Food Network, for most of the day?

An Alternate way to serve this --

Sounds really good! An alternate way to serve it is to take a box of Jiffy type cornmeal muffin mix and make it up as pancakes which you griddle as the chili is heating in the microwave. Then alternate a cornmeal pancake, a big spoon of chili and a dusting of cheese once or twice more. We call this Texas Pancakes. If you only have one can of chili and four people, this alternate lets everyone enjoy some chili! Peace ---Ellen

Ellen--Oooh! Chili with hoe cakes! That sounds great! Thanks for the suggestion.
