Aerden [userpic]
A Thousand Times, Laughing

...Even as mere survival is not victory,
Mere death is not defeat.
And in the next world, I will smite the foe
A thousand times, laughing--
Undefeated.

--from a Klingon poem

Dear Crys,

May your journey be safe and swift, filled with the Light.

(His funeral is today, probably just about over, as I type this.

The flowers from yourself were there - very nice bunch they were too, lovely mix of reds and oranges with a dash of white in between.

Theo--Fantastic! I liked that particular arrangement because it was bright and pretty and didn't look funereal. Crys always made me feel sunny and cheerful, and that's what I wanted his flowers to reflect. I'm glad you liked them. :)

What an awesome poem.

Kris--If you buy a Star Trek novel called The Final Reflection, the entire poem is in Chapter 1. I only quoted a part of it. It is a pretty awesome poem.

Just wanted to say - thank you for the flowers. They're beautiful - as was the note.

Rich--I'm so glad they got there!

Truly, I am. The poor lady at the florist shop had never done an international flower order before, and she was baffled by the funeral home's address. I wasn't much help, either. (g)

"Um...I know the town is Nuneaton. I don't know what The Green and Attleborough are. It's all in Warwickshire."

I hope the funeral went well. :)

The flowers were indeed beautiful.

Thank you so much. I'll post more about the funeral (on caersidi) later but Naomi is staying over and I am being a good hostess :)

I intend on posting the service she wrote which was just amazing.

I wish I could lure her to LJ but she pulls faces at the idea of blogging.
