Creepiness

RPG's: Today, I went to a pbem recruiting site to look it over so I can use it to recruit for the Nightraven. I visited the 'Players Looking for a Game' page and checked it out in hopes of finding someone who might want to join a starship.

Only three ads were placed there, all from female gamers wanting one-on-one adult/erotic RP's to game in.

That really weirded me out. It was kind of creepy and sad at the same time.

Nightraven: The game is active, at last. Anyone interested in joining a narrative-format Star Trek RPG played on a message board is welcome. Age limit is 16. Currently, only two positions are filled, so there's plenty of room for new players. You can visit the site and check out the game at: USS Nightraven.

That's the general feeling I get looking at RPG ads these days. Sure you want to make sure the minors stay out, but you have to think about the kind of crowd you're attracting with that "We like sex!" announcement. The frequency of that kind of announcement also seem to indicate that RPGs are all about that these days.

And just because there's never enough weirding out to go around...I'd bet at least one of those was a male posing as a female.
